| My friend Vincent Geloso has started a new bilingual blog. Here he is writing about candidates for the leadership of the federal Liberal Party. It seems like anti-free-trade crusader David Orchard is thinking about running for Liberal leader. In the early 1990s, Orchard was calling for a Liberal-NDP alliance. Then he ran in 1998 and 2003 for the leadership of the Progressive Conservative Party and now maybe that of the Liberal Party in 2006. The PCs were so pathetic by that point that they were vulnerable to infestation byOrchard and hundreds "progressive" types out for a lark.
The press treated them seriously while laughing at the prank on the side.
The lack of resistance drew in more. What stopped them was a convention that had real conservative views expressed in favour of McKay and even Bryson.
