| This is becoming interesting. Recent polls are pointing to a Conservative Party on the rise not only in the rest of Canada but also in Québec. According to today's SES daily poll, the Conservative Party has a support of 15 percent in Québec. A Léger Marketing poll puts the Conservatives at 16 percent in Québec whereas an Ekos poll gives them a surprising 20 percent.
While the Bloc Québécois is still leading by a large margin, it seems to have lost some strength. Whereas polls in December frequently put the Bloc at more than 50 percent in Québec, these three January polls respectively put the Bloc at 48, 45 and 44 percent. Like a Le Devoir article had hypothesized two weeks ago, disgruntled federalist voters who would otherwise have voted for the Bloc seem to be turning to the Conservative Party, in which they now see a credible alternative to the Liberals. | Ça devient intéressant. Tel qu'un article du Devoir en a fait l'hypothèse il y a deux semaines, les électeurs fédéralistes mécontents qui sinon auraient voté pour le Bloc semblent se tourner vers le Parti Conservateur, dans lequel ils voient maintenant une alternative crédible aux Libéraux. |
