He said that after the referendum, two goals were approved by the highest authorities in the Liberal Party: Annihilate the Conservative Party in Quebec to unite all of the federalists in Quebec under the Liberal banner, and ensure that the Liberal Party became synonymous with Canada in the province of Quebec.

Of course, now that a foul stench of corruption surrounds the Liberal Party, federalists such as Sheila Copps are reduced to pleading that "the Liberal Party is not Canada." Indeed, Québec federalists need to send a clear message that this is a Liberal scandal, not a federalist scandal, and the best way to prove it is to vote a federalist party that is not the Liberal Party.

En effet, les fédéralistes québécois doivent envoyer un message clair comme quoi c'est un scandale Libéral et non un scandale fédéraliste et la meilleure manière de le faire est de voter pour un parti fédéraliste autre que le Parti Libéral.
